Jobi McAnuff Kicks Jack Wilshere in Crotch, Leading World to Cringe in Sympathy With Soccer Star (Video)

As Jack Wilshere lay on the ground writhing in pain, we all went back to a familiar place.

The Arsenal midfielder was kicked in the crotch during a Premier League soccer game Monday. He eventually got up and played on, but not before the rest of the world instinctively cringed and let out a collective “oof.”

The unfortunate incident took place in the first half of Arsenal’s 5-2 win over Reading. Wilshere was charging toward a ball in the midfield as it arrived at the foot of Jobi McAnuff.

The Reading captain attempted to kick it but missed. He left his leg in the air, and Wilshere ran straight into it. McAnuff will claim that it was unintentional … because he has to. Fans will probably dispute his account.

Wilshere missed all of the 2011-12 season and the start of the current campaign with a series of foot and ankle ailments. When he ran into McAnuff’s foot, he might have wondered why he bothered coming back in the first place.
