Robert Griffin III may have dodged a major bullet in the Redskins’ overtime win over the Ravens.
The Redskins’ star rookie quarterback had his knee violently bent backwards on a hit from defensive end Haloti Ngata, but Griffin believes he did not tear his ACL. Griffin sustained that season ending injury on the same knee in 2009.
“Shouldn’t be ACL,” RGIII told Sal Paolantonio of ESPN. “I know what that feels like. I’ll be all right.”
The Redskins currently sit at 7-6 after Sunday’s win, and if the season ended right now, they would be out of the playoffs. But they still have a chance to win the NFC East with games remaining on the road in Cleveland and Philadelphia, before hosting the Cowboys to end the regular season.
