Football and mixed martial arts are obviously completely different, but each involves a great deal of quickness and contact, which means some workout regimens translate well across both sports.

Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith and Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan are among those in the NFL who use some form of MMA training during the offseason. Steelers cornerback Will Allen opts not to use such workouts, but he’s still fired up for Saturday’s UFC 155.

Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez will throw down in a rematch of a bout that took place in November 2011. Dos Santos stopped Velasquez in 64 seconds in that fight, but Velasquez has been training hard ever since to get his title back.

Smith, Kerrigan and Allen all have interesting takes on the upcoming clash, and they also have some fond memories of some of the sport’s other big name fighters as well. Check out what the NFL stars had to say in the video above.

Be sure to tune in to UFC 155 on Saturday at 10 p.m. EST live on pay-per-view.
