Victor CruzJack Pinto was a huge New York Giants fan who considered wide receiver Victor Cruz his favorite football player. So it was only fitting that Jack, one of the 20 children killed in last week’s horrific school shooting in Connecticut, was laid to rest paying tribute to his favorite player.

The 6-year-old was buried in a replica Cruz jersey, something that obviously touched Cruz. The Giants wideout decided that he must return the favor in any way he could, opting to use his cleats and gloves as a tribute to Jack this past weekend when New York played Atlanta.

Cruz wasn’t done there, though. The UMass product made the short trip from New York to Newtown to meet with Pinto’s grieving family. He brought the gloves and cleats to give to the family, and he spent some time visiting with them.

Cruz recounted the obviously touching experience on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. See what he had to say in the video below.
