Detroit Red Wings backup goaltenderĀ Thomas McCollum may not see a lot of ice time behind Jimmy Howard this season, but if playing time was dictated by the greatest hockey masks, then he would be starting every game.
McCollum, who was just called up from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday, wears a mask that features the late Chris Farley wearing a Red Wings jersey with the words āTommy Boyā underneath the cartoon.
The mask may not intimidate his opponents, but if McCollum imitates the āfat guy in a little coatā scene while in goal, he may just succeed in distracting them.
