Pep Guardiola Snubs Cristiano Ronaldo at Ballon d’Or Ceremony (Video)

So much for letting bygones be bygones.

Pep Guardiola ensured that the rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid extends into the unlikeliest of places. The former Barcelona manager reportedly snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala on Monday.

The Real Madrid superstar and Ballon d’Or finalist was heading to his seat, which was located in the row behind Guardiola’s. Ronaldo tapped his former foe on the shoulder, and Guardiola turned around.

Guardiola instantly recognized Ronaldo, but he appeared to turn right back around without saying anything or shaking Ronaldo’s hand.

It’s unknown what sort of bad blood exists between the two — outside of the usual Barca-Real Madrid animosity. Regardless, Guardiola’s snub was frosty by anyone’s standards.

Watch the awkward moment when Ronaldo snubbed Guardiola in the video below.
