Justin UptonAfter signing Cody Ross, it seems more a matter of when, not if, the Diamondbacks will trade Justin UptonĀ orĀ Jason Kubel.

So far, Upton is drawing far more interest as a trade target from MLB teams. The Mariners, Rangers and Braves are the latest teams inquiring about the star outfielder, according to FOX Sports.

It’s likely that the Diamondbacks would be looking for young pitching help in return in any potential deal.

The Diamondbacks have an influx of talent in the corner outfield with Upton, Ross and Kubel, but have shown wavering interest in trading the most valuable of those three pieces — Upton. Upton hit 17 home runs with 67 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, a .280 batting average an a .785 OPS in 2012. His best seasons came in 2009 and 2011 when he had an OPS of .899 and .898 respectively.
