So, hockey is back. When does it start?

Well, that’s a tricky question. First of all, the NHL and players’ association only have a tentative agreement, although there’s good faith on both sides that this is it after months of negotiating. But the details still need to be nailed down, and the league has said the players will need at least a week of practice before games resume. Commissioner Gary Bettman has said the season will need at least 48 games once it starts.

Pierre LeBrun of ESPN says the new season could start as soon as next Tuesday, with several scenarios possible.
