Tim TebowTim Tebow‘s a Jacksonville native and likely to be a free agent this offseason. The Jaguars need a quarterback. Seems like a match, right?

Well, despite much speculation connecting the current Jets quarterback with his hometown team, Jags general manager David Caldwell is nipping those rumors in the bud.

“I can’t imagine a scenario where he would be a Jacksonville Jaguar,” said Caldwell at his introductory news conference on Thursday.

Tebow spent most of the 2012 season as Mark Sanchez‘s backup with New York. However, when Sanchez was injured or benched late in the year, Rex Ryan tabbed Greg McElroy, not Tebow, to start. That decision reportedly led to a rift between Tebow and team management, hinting that the quarterback’s future will be somewhere outside of the Big Apple.
