It’s been a wild season in Hockey East, with New Hampshire and Boston College — who have both been ranked No. 1 overall in the country at times this season — leading the way.

So who amongst the youngsters is stepping up this season? Who’s the top freshman of them all.

BU’s Sean Maguire is holding down the fort in goal for the Terriers, while Providence’s Jon Gillies is nearly matching him save for save. Northeastern’s Kevin Roy is showing some serious skill as an undersized (5-foot-10) forward, while the Eagles’ Michael Matheson has been a solid presence on BC’s back line.

Who do you think has been Hockey East’s top freshman?
