Alabama top recruit Reuben Foster finally has closure. For years he didn’t know his father, nor did he know whether he was alive or not.

Danny Foster is alive, and he was arrested on Friday after 16 years on the lam. Foster was originally arrested for shooting his wife, who was holding their 18-month-old son. Inita Berry Paige suffered a collapsed lung during the shooting and Reuben Foster was wounded in the back.

Danny Foster escaped from jail in December of 1996. He was captured in Miami after he had taken on a new identity.

Reuben Foster is the No. 2 recruit in the nation according to Scout.com. The young linebacker announced he would attend Auburn in December. He changed his mind to become a member of the Crimson Tide, but not before getting an Auburn tattoo on his forearm.

Foster tweeted “Tears pooring!!!” about the discovery of his father. He said that his father’s side of the family was lying about his whereabouts.
