With forwards Shawn Thornton, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille and David Krejci all still at less than 100 percent after the Bruins’ most recent stretch of games, the team recalled winger Ryan Spooner on an emergency basis Monday for the upcoming meeting with the Montreal Canadiens.

Spooner, who has tallied nine goals and 21 assists in 35 games with the P-Bruins this season, will join the big club on Tuesday and is expected to travel with the team to Montreal. It will be the first regular-season call-up for the 21-year-old, who was selected in the second round of the 2010 NHL draft.

Of the four regular forwards battling injuries, only Thornton is not expected to travel with the team Wednesday, though head coach Claude Julien said he is now symptom-free after suffering a concussion in Thursday’s loss to Buffalo.

Marchand and Krejci did not practice Monday, but both are expected to return in time for the B’s first matchup of the season with the rival Canadiens.
