Caron Butler taught Jonas Valanciunas an important lesson on Friday night — never trust a crafty veteran.

With Butler’s Clippers down 98-71 with 17 seconds remaining, Valanciunas dribbled the ball to half court to run out the clock. Butler went to high five the Raptors center, and pried the ball out of his hands.

Valanciunas fouled Butler before he could get to the hoop for a layup, but the Clippers’ forward drained both free throws to cut the lead to 98-73. The tricky move obviously didn’t change the outcome of the game, but it was still nice to see an 11-year vet play until the whistle blows.
