Brent CallowayJust over a month after making national headlines for winning the BCS National Championship, Nick Saban‘s Alabama Crimson Tide are making news for all the wrong reasons.

Four players were arrested on charges of second degree robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card. Linebackers D.J. Pettaway and Tyler Hayes were arrested on counts of second-degree robbery.

Running back Brent Calloway was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, while defensive back Eddie Williams was charged with both fraudulent use of a credit card and second-degree robbery.

For Williams, this was his second arrest in as many days. Tuscaloosa police said he was also arrested the day before for carrying a pistol without a permit.

“This is a very serious matter and we are very disappointed in the actions that have resulted in the charges against these student-athletes,” said Alabama athletic director Mal Moore in a released statement.

Williams was released on a $65,000 bond, and Hayes and Pettaway were each released on $60,000 bonds respectively. Calloway was released on a $5,000 bond.
