Greg Stiemsma’s Chasedown Block of Damian Lillard Not Enough to Prevent Wolves’ Loss to Blazers (Video)

Greg Stiemsma is still holding block parties. He’s just holding them in a different locale this season.

The shot-blocking big man out of Wisconsin, who made his debut with the Celtics last season as a 26-year-old rookie, became one of the few opponents this season to get the better of Damian Lillard. The Blazers’ rookie point guard picked off a pass in the second quarter of Monday’s game in Minnesota and raced down the court, ready to score an easy layup, but Stiemsma was not conceding the two points. He chased down the speedy Lillard from behind and knocked away the shot as it left his hand.

Stiemsma is averaging 3.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in the first season of a two-year deal with the Timberwolves.

Check out his block in the video below.
