Despite sort of looking like Droopy Dog, Mike Woodson has managed to keep his players’ attention as Knicks coach. This is not a small accomplishment, since New York’s roster is filled with players who have had problems with other coaches in the past.

On Tuesday, Woodson offered a glimpse into one thing that might help him relate to today’s players. Woodson wore a T-shirt with his own face on it, over the words “COACH.” The bit of dry humor was not lost on Chris Herring of The Wall Street Journal, who did the world a favor and tweeted a photo of Woodson.

If this is a new strategy the Knicks are using to identify everybody at practice, we approve. We look forward to seeing J.R. Smith‘s face on a shirt that says “GUNNER,” Rasheed Wallace’s face with “TECHNICALS” and Jason Kidd‘s face over the words “OLD.”

Check out Woodson’s shirt in the tweet below.
