The Red Sox have sold out every home game at Fenway Park since 2003, setting a record among major league baseball teams. Unfortunately, it appears that the streak could soon be coming to a close.
Speaking to reporters in spring training on Thursday, Red Sox president Larry Lucchino admitted that he expects the streak to end in the near future, and possibly as soon as the team’s second home game on April 10.

Fenway Park’s sellout streak of 793 games is the third-longest in professional sports history, behind the Dayton Dragons and Portland Trail Blazers. The Dragons, a Single-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, have sold out 913 straight games and counting, while the Blazers filled the Rose Garden for 814 straight games from 1977 through 1995.
