Bryant Jordan JamesWe’re all in agreement that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. Likewise, chances are we’re all in agreement that the greatest current players are Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

But where do they stack up against each other?

Well, in case you were wondering where Jordan stands on the issue of the greatest active players, M.J. weighed in on the topic in an interview with NBA TV. And, considering Jordan’s six career NBA titles, perhaps his answer shouldn’t be all that surprising.

“Five beats one every time I look at it,” said Jordan. “And not that [James] won’t get five. He may get more than that, but five is bigger than one.”

Well, case settled. Five is indeed greater than one. It might be easy to point out to Jordan that Bryant benefited from opening his career playing alongside Shaquille O’Neal, while James is only in the midst of his third season sharing the court with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

Nonetheless, who are we to argue with His Airness?
