The Patriots have a tough decision on their hands.

Trading for cornerback Aqib Talib paid immediate dividends for the New England secondary, but the team is hesitant to sign him long term, according to Comcast Sports Net.

Talib is known for his off-the-field issues, and while he stayed out of trouble with the Patriots, there were reportedly concerns about his work ethic.

A source told Comcast Sports Net that Talib passed on chances to do extra work in Foxboro. The team would prefer to sign him to a one-year deal.

If the Patriots pass on re-signing Talib, that likely means another high draft pick will be spent on a cornerback.
