Metta World Peace awoke early Tuesday morning to find his home surrounded by police cars, his nephew and his friends in handcuffs and a bunch of cops looking for answers. He reportedly responded in the only natural way to react to such a situation.
After putting on his Cookie Monster pajamas, World Peace came outside and explained to police that his nephew and friends were filming a scene for their movie about life in the streets. After filming wrapped up, the cast and crew took the fake 9 mm handguns and fake shotgun and played around outside World Peace’s condo complex, TMZ reports. World Peace reportedly patched things up with the police, who had a good laugh over the whole episode.
“At first when I seen police, I was like, ‘What the hell is going on?'” World Peace is quoted as saying by The Los Angeles Times. “I just got finished watching Zero Dark Thirty or whatever that movie is. I’m like, ‘I’m dreaming. I’m dreaming. Is there a terrorist in the building? Do y’all need my help?'”
They did need his help, just not in the way he imagined. Once the police cars and helicopter left the scene, World Peace got cozy again in his PJs, although he said he did not get much sleep.
