Report: Tim Tebow Will Not Be Released Before New League Year As Jets Test Trade Waters

Tim TebowRemember when there was a quarterback controversy in New York? Now, the only debate surrounding Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez is which signal caller has less value in the trade market.

The Jets will try to trade Tebow before the start of the 2013 season as they have elected not to release the quarterback before the start of the new league year, according to ESPN.com. There is little interest in the Florida product, which should come as a surprise to no one.

One general manager told Adam Schefter that Tebow’s NFL career could be over if he isn’t open to changing positions. If the Jets had no intention of playing Tebow at quarterback, it would have been wise to attempt that in 2012, but other than his role as a punt protector, Tebow was usually handling clipboard duties on the New York sidelines.
