Robert KraftPerhaps the biggest question the Patriots will face this offseason is whether or not they decide to resign Wes Welker.

To owner Robert Kraft, it may not be completely up to New England, though. Kraft said he wants the star slot receiver back, but there could be other elements that prevent a deal from getting done.

“I’d love him to be around, he’s a great guy,” Kraft told Comcast Sports Net. “Like I said all along, it takes two sides to make a transaction and then we have to manage the lawyers and the agents that they don’t mess it up. I think Wes wants to be with us and we want him here so it’s just a matter of whether both sides can be intelligent.”

Welker has had some key drops in the past two postseason games, but his durability and reliability have been key for the Patriots over the past six seasons. Welker had 118 receptions for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns in 2012.
