One of the NFL Draft’s top prospects was thrust into the spotlight on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t because of his time in the 40-yard dash.
Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei announced through his agent that he will not participate in the NFL Combine’s drills, after an echocardiogram detected a heart condition. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, who pointed out that an issue with a specific part of Lotulelei’s heart was the cause for concern.

The Utah product was expected to be a top-five pick in this year’s draft. His agent announced that Lotulelei is still planning on participating in his school’s pro day on March 20.
