Tuukka RaskComing into this season, some fans might have worried about Tuukka Rask taking over the reins as the Bruins’ starting goaltender. It appears that those worries were unwarranted.

Rask has been excellent in replacing Tim Thomas as the B’s No. 1 goalie, and the team’s 7-1-1 record to start the year reflects that. Rask enters Thursday sixth in the league in goals-against average, and a .922 save percentage to boot. Toss in a couple of shootout victories, and Rask has quickly built a strong resume that ranks him at or near the top of the Eastern Conference goalies.

Now, the question will turn to whether or not he can keep up his high quality of play as the season rolls on.

NESN.com NHL writer Mike Cole stopped by the podcast on Thursday to discuss the Bruins’ play this year with NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette. The two also discussed Dougie Hamilton‘s emergence on the blue line, Roberto Luongo‘s comeback in Vancouver and much more.
