Adam McQuaid, Brayden SchennThe Bruins’ injury issues continued Tuesday night and right into Wednesday.

B’s general manager Peter Chiarelli announced Wednesday that defenseman Adam McQuaid has a strained right shoulder, and the defenseman could be out 3-4 weeks.

McQuaid left Tuesday’s loss to the Winnipeg Jets in the first period after he was checked by Winnipeg winger Eric Tangradi. The hit sent McQuaid tumbling awkwardly into the boards. He skated off the ice and remained on the bench momentarily, but that may have been due to the rink more than anything else. The MTS Centre benches aren’t connected to the tunnels that lead to the dressing rooms, and after a stop in play, McQuaid eventually returned to the Boston room.

The big defenseman, who has 1-3-4 totals and 49 penalty minutes this season, is just the latest Bruin to fall victim to the injury bug. Center Chris Kelly is out indefinitely with a broken tibia, while center David Krejci missed Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury. Krejci’s injury, however, isn’t expected to be too serious.
