When Dwight Howard took the court in Orlando for the first time as a Magic opponent on Tuesday night, he admitted that he would always have a soft spot in his heart for his former fans in Florida. Carmelo Anthony does not sound quite as nostalgic as he prepares to make his first visit to Denver as a member of the Knicks.
When Anthony returns to the Mile High City to face his old team at home for the first time, he will not shed a tear or anything like that.
“I don’t think it will be emotional,” Anthony told Yahoo! Sports. “I think it will be crazy sitting on the other bench, sitting on the other side of the court, being in the visitor’s locker room. But as far as being emotional, I don’t think so.”
Anthony is expected to play despite a nagging knee injury that may need to be drained of fluid, the New York Post reports. Anthony missed three games after twisting his knee in a win over Cleveland, and looked far less than 100 percent in his return to the lineup against the Warriors on Monday.
