Dougie Hamilton is the Bruins’ youngest player, and he’s also the only one on the active roster who was born in the hockey-crazed city of Toronto.

Not only was the rookie defenseman born in Ontario’s capital, he’s spent almost his entire life in the area, attending Governor Simcoe Secondary School in nearby St. Catharine’s and playing junior hockey for the hometown Niagara Ice Dogs.

He helped the B’s take down his hometown NHL squad Monday night, assisting on Patrice Bergeron‘s third-period goal in a 3-2 shootout win over the Maple Leafs.
