If seeing Kevin Youkilis play for the Yankees isn’t strange enough, seeing Kevin Millar join him in pinstripes would be.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has appeared a little desperate in recent days as he’s tried to round up a third baseman, and he’s had to take the jokes that come with it. After retired Atlanta third base legend Chipper Jones turned down Cashman’s invitation Monday, plenty of suggestions — ludicrous or not — of how to help the Yankees were circulating.
Millar made sure he didn’t miss the boat.

The Yankees are looking for veteran help at first base until Mark Teixeira comes back from a wrist injury. By signing another third baseman, the Yankees could move Youkilis — already filling in for the injured Alex Rodriguez — to first.
Millar last played in the major leagues in 2009, for Toronto. He spent three years in Boston, including the Red Sox’ memorable 2004 World Series win.
