Lululemon's See-Through Yoga Pants Pulled From Store Shelves After Revealing Too Much

Well, that’s a little awkward.

Lululemon Athletica, which has quite a following in the sportswear community, is in the midst of a very public and very embarrassing recall. The culprit? Some nice black yoga pants that solve all your workout needs — and then some.

Lululemon’s popular black yoga pants are being hastily pulled from shelves now that some not-so-scientific research has revealed that the pants, which are made up of a special sheer material, have been revealing a bit more than advertised. The pants are apparently see-through and … well, you can figure out the rest. Downward-facing dog is not a great idea with these duds.

The popular style makes up 17 percent of all the pants that Lululemon sells in its stores, according to CBS News, meaning the company is taking quite the hit for this stumble on its sportswear.

Lululemon says it hasn’t changed the recipe for the makeup of its clothes, but the execution of the pants-making in Asia could have led to the mistake, CBS News reports.

“There appears to be a ‘major quality control problem’ in Asia where the ‘Luon’ pants are made,” CBS News reported Sam Poser of Sterne, Agee & Leach as saying. “While Lululemon has used the same factories to make its fabric since 2004, he said it doesn’t seem as though the company has the proper oversight in place.”

Lululemon is offering exchanges or full refunds to customers, CBS reports.

After this one, though, yoga fans may also want more than that — let’s say, their innocence? — back.
