Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, who played his college ball at Kentucky, made the Wildcats’ week even worse when he filled out his NCAA Tournament bracket. Kentucky already missed the tournament this year then got beat in the first round of the NIT, ending a rocky season for the school that won the national championship last year and looked unstoppable under John Calipari‘s coaching tactic of recruiting NBA-bound players.
Now the Wildcats have to deal with one of their former players picking their hated in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals, to win the Big Dance.
Rondo was among several Celtics who filled out March Madness brackets this year, and he went with the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, Louisville. While Rondo picked many of the favorites throughout his bracket, his choosing Louisville to win it all still had to sting.
