David GarrardDavid Garrard has had his eyes set on a return to the NFL, and it looks like the Jets may give him another shot.

The 35-year-old quarterback, who was competing for the Dolphins’ starting job before injuring his knee, “anticipates putting a deal together” with New York, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. However, with the Jets needing to work through some salary cap issues, the quarterback may have to wait it out.

The 35-year-old held a workout with the New York Jets on Thursday, and said it “went great,” according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Prior to his training camp stint with the Dolphins, Garrard played for nine seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. There, he posted 16,003 passing yards, 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions in 86 games.
