Report: Reggie Bush Agrees to Four-Year Deal With Lions to Take on Full-Time Running Back Role


Reggie BushReggie Bush had a decision to make — sign with the Lions or Cardinals as a full-time running back or sign with the Redskins or Bengals as a third-down back.

Bush agreed to terms on a four-year deal with the Lions on Wednesday, according to Tim Twentyman of The team retweeted Twentyman’s tweet and said “Welcome to Detroit!”

The Lions and Cardinals were offering the USC product a starting role, while the Redskins and Bengals see him as a third-down back, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. Bush had 2,072 rushing yards in the past two seasons with the Dolphins — just 18 less than he had in five years with New Orleans. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry and had 12 touchdowns. He also added 78 receptions for 588 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Adam Schefter said on SportsCenter that Detroit was hoping to sign Bush, defensive tackle Jason Jones and safety Glover Quin in one fell swoop. They have already acquired Bush and Jones. Bush will start over Mikel LeShoure at running back.
