Young was signed by the Buffalo Bills before the 2012 season, but he was released on August 27 before Week 1. Young was drafted out of Texas with the No. 3 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2006. The former Longhorn accumulated a 31-19 record as a starter in the league playing for Tennessee and Philadelphia. He threw for 8,964 career yards with 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions. He also racked up 1,459 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Young has been taking classes at the University of Texas in his year off from football. The Longhorns did the quarterback who brought Texas a national championship in 2005 a favor by allowing him to display his talent. With the read-option offense in vogue, it would be no surprise if a team took a chance on the 29-year-old signal caller.
