But for a Celtics team without the services of Paul Pierce and fielding a pair of players on 10-day contracts, the loss to the Gerald Henderson-led Bobcats is not the end of the world.
Henderson had a breakout game on Tuesday, torching his dad’s former team for a career-high 35 points on 11-of-19 shooting. The Celtics’ depleted lineup couldn’t handle the former Duke Blue Devil and it showed on the court, as the Bobcats spent the majority of the second half leading by double digits.
It was an embarrassing performance, sure, but the full-strength Celtics should be able to get back on track against Toronto and these same Bobcats in their next two games before the still-streaking Miami Heat come to town for a tilt at TD Garden.
NESN.com NBA editor Ben Watanabe joined Zack Cox on the podcast to give his take on Tuesday night’s game, Henderson’s future and a pair of homecomings taking place in the NBA this week.
