VCU Coach Shaka Smart Brings Free Pizza to Fans Camping Out Outside Arena (Video)

You know your basketball team has become one of the big boys when fans spend the night in tents just to get a good seat.

Students at Virginia Commonwealth University did just that over the weekend, camping out outside the Siegel Center on Friday night in anticipation for the VCU men’s team’s game against No. 20 Butler. Rams head coach Shaka Smart appreciated their loyalty and took the time to personally deliver some pizzas to the diehards.

Smart’s team showed its appreciation the next day, putting an 84-52 beatdown on the Atlantic-10-rival Bulldogs — Butler’s worst conference loss since 1984.
