Danny AmendolaLike many NFL teams, the Patriots have been busy since free agency opened last Tuesday.

Their most talked-about acquisition is surely slot receiver Danny Amendola, who was brought basically to replace Wes Welker just hours after news surfaced that Welker had signed a two-year deal with Denver.

But the Pats’ moves didn’t stop there. New England soothed fans’ disappointment over the loss of Danny Woodhead with the signing of former Seahawks running back/returner Leon Washington on Friday and added a veteran presence in the secondary by inking a deal with safety Adrian Wilson on Saturday.

Even with the new blood now on the roster, some may argue that the Patriots’ most important move of the offseason was to bring back some key pieces from last season’s squad. This was especially evident in the defensive backfield, as the team re-signed top cornerback Aqib Talib to a one-year deal and also renewed fellow corner Kyle Arrington, who would ideally assume to role of a nickel back.

There will undoubtedly be wheeling and dealing before the season gets underway in September — not to mention the rookies that will come to Foxboro via April’s draft. But from this early free-agent sampling, which player excites you the most?
