SaintsEditor’s note: As part of NFL’s Greatest Quarterback, fans will decide the best QB in each team’s history.

Archie Manning: Manning is best known as Peyton and Eli‘s father, but Archie had quite a career with the Saints. He played 11 years in New Orleans and led the team to a 35-91-3 record.

Manning made two Pro Bowls in 1978 and 1979. The Saints never made the playoffs under Manning.

Bobby Hebert: Hebert was a local legend after growing up in Baton Rouge, La., and attending Northwestern State University of Louisiana. After playing two seasons in the USFL, Hebert came over to the NFL and led the Saints to a 2-4 record in six starts.

Hebert took over as the Saints’ full-time starter in 1987 and led the team a 10-2 record. In seven years with the Saints, Hebert went 49-26. The Saints made the playoffs three times in that span. He failed to win a postseason game.

Aaron Brooks: Brooks took over as the Saints’ starter in 2000, his second season in the league. He pushed the team to a playoff berth and helped beat the Rams in the opening round. They lost to the Vikings in the divisional round.

Brooks went 38-44 as the Saints’ starter. He threw for 19,156 yards with 120 touchdowns and 84 yards during his six-year career in New Orleans.

Drew Brees: The Chargers let Brees test free agency in 2006 and the rest is history. He’s made six Pro Bowls since and led the Saints to their first Super Bowl victory. Brees broke the single-season passing record in 2011 with 5,476 yards. He added 46 touchdowns and completed 71.2 percent of his passes.

During his time in New Orleans, the Saints have gone 69-42. Brees is the Saints’ franchise passing leader with 33,571 yards. The Purdue product is a two-time AP Offensive Player of the Year.
