Waterlogged Field in Kazakhstan Creates Soccer Follies in Borat’s Backyard (Video)

We don’t know much about Kazakhstan or the soccer that is played there, but we do know that it is home to one of the strangest soccer sights in recent memory.

A league game was played in watery conditions, and we’ve got the video to prove it. The short clip shows a player attempting to take a corner kick on a waterlogged field, and the corner of the field in question was literally under water.

The ridiculousness of it all seemed to frustrate the player, so he decided to toss the ball back into play with his hands. Only the expert referee seemed have a problem with it, so he ordered the player to retake the kick … and do it properly.

How anyone — either manager or the referee — agreed to play the game under these conditions is beyond us. There’s really not much more to say than that.
