Bruins FansThe Bruins will play hockey on Sunday night at TD Garden against the Ottawa Senators. Where they go from there, though, is still very much up in the air.

The B’s-Sens game will be worth a lot more than pride, as the two clubs — as well as Montreal, Toronto, Pittsburgh and the New York Islanders — will all wait for Sunday’s game to see where they’re headed for the first round.

Here are the different scenarios for the first round, depending on what happens Sunday against Ottawa.

If the Bruins win in regulation

Bruins win Northeast Division, earn No. 2 seed and play No.7 New York Islanders
No. 1 Pittsburgh plays No. 8 Ottawa
No. 4 Montreal plays No. 5 Toronto

If Bruins win in overtime or shootout

Bruins win Northeast Division, earn No. 2 seed and play No.7 Ottawa
No. 1 Pittsburgh plays No. 8 New York Islanders
No. 4 Montreal plays No. 5 Toronto

If Bruins lose in regulation, overtime or shootout

No. 1 Pittsburgh plays No. 8 New York Islanders

Note: No. 3 Washington plays No. 6 New York Rangers, no matter what happens in Boston-Ottawa game Sunday night.
