Bryce Harper Has Ball Bounce off Glove, Giving Tim Hudson First Home Run of Season (Video)

Bryce Harper should be credited with an assist on Tim Hudson‘s home run Tuesday night.

In the fifth inning of the Nationals-Braves game, Harper nearly made a highlight-reel catch on a fly ball off the bat of Atlanta’s starting pitcher. But instead of hauling it in, the ball bounced off the young outfielder’s glove and over the right-field fence.

It’s embarrassing enough to gift the other team a homer, but it’s even worse when the blunder comes with the opposing pitcher at the plate. But hey, it could have been worse. Right, Jose?

The home run was the cherry on a memorable night for Hudson, who allowed one run over seven three-hit innings while also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a homer.
