Highbrow this is not, but of course, the same could be said of reigning Masters champ Bubba Watson — and that’s just the way he likes it.

Watson got to pick the menu for this year’s Masters Champions Dinner, and, in the tradition of past hosts, he picked something that reflects him as a golfer and a person. Watson went with a grilled chicken breast as the main meat, but beyond that, it got positively Bubba-style: cornbread, macaroni and cheese, green beans and mashed potatoes. For dessert, the former champions got to enjoy confetti cake.

While some have been quick to judge Watson for supposedly soiling the ambiance of the Masters by offering a good-ol’-boy dinner for the former champions, he’s not the first to have an unconventional spread on his special night. A quick browse through former menu options reveals that many former champions have picked options that reflect their heritage. Tiger Woods has picked the menu so often that for his 2005 win, he went with steak and chicken fajitas, Mexican rice and refried beans — not exactly the definition of classy.

Check out Watson’s menu, which he had signed by the other former winners, in the photo below.
