Clay Buchholz admits that pitching against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium is never an easy task. But Buchholz and the Red Sox made it look easy in their 7-4 rout of the Bronx Bombers on Tuesday night.
The Sox started their season 2-0 for the first time since 1999 behind the arm of Buchholz, who allowed just one run on six hits in seven innings. He struck out four batters, walked two and got seven outs via ground ball with his teammates playing solid defense behind him.
The offense did their part too, allowing Buchholz to pitch with a 6-0 lead after two and a half innings, which should give him confidence heading into his next start.
Check out the video above to hear what Buchholz had to say after his first start of 2013.
