Dan Boyle was one of the many names bandied about around the NHL trade deadline. The 3 p.m. deadline came and went Wednesday afternoon, and the veteran defenseman remained with the San Jose Sharks.

He made the decision to keep him look smart, at least for now, as he scored one of the most gorgeous goals we’ve seen this year. The blue liner played a part in the Sharks’ 4-2 win over the surging Minnesota Wild when he took the puck coast to coast with some incredible puck-handling skills. Boyle moved around defenders and eventually buried a goal that gave the Sharks a 2-0 lead.

Boyle now has six goals to go along with 11 assists this season.
