Joe FlaccoThe latest quarterback to bring the city of Baltimore a Super Bowl victory will play a Charm City legend in an upcoming film.

Joe Flacco will portray Johnny Unitas in the final scenes of the movieĀ Unitas We Stand, according to the Baltimore Sun. The scene will depict the Colts’ 1958 NFL Championship Game victory.

Filming is set to start in late July, though production is being planned around Flacco’s football schedule. Unitas’ son, Joe, wrote the script and is co-producing the film. The movie has a projected budget of $12.8 million.

“Obviously, the Baltimore ties are very important to me,” Unitas’ son said about the decision to cast Flacco. “I think it’s great that Joe just won the Super Bowl with the Ravens and was Most Valuable Player in the game. A lot of the wayĀ Joe plays and his demeanor reminds me a lot of my dad. He’s not a rah-rah guy. He throws a touchdown and maybe there’s a little fist pump. He understands his job is all about winning and he does aĀ phenomenal job leading the offense and the team and obviously they’ve developed a lot of trust afterĀ becoming a champion.”

Flacco is the highest-paid quarterback in the game. Now he has the pressure of imitating one of the best to ever play.
