The USGA faced an interesting conundrum on Saturday when the organization had to make a ruling on whether or not to penalize Tiger Woods for an illegal drop he made on Friday afternoon.

Officials at The Masters did not make a ruling at the time of the infraction, and Woods only gave himself a one-shot penalty on his scorecard for the day.

The USGA was only made aware of Woods’ illegal drop when someone watching the tournament on TV called to report it. The organization reviewed video footage of the play, and retroactively assessed a two-stroke penalty.

Legendary quarterback Joe Montana was not happy with the way it went down. Montana, a relative newcomer to the Twitter game, needed more than 140 characters to tell the world how he felt about the situation, posting a series of ranting tweets berating the USGA for the way they handled the situation.

Check out what the Hall of Famer had to say in the tweets below.
