John Lackey ‘Felt Really Good’ Until Injury, Says Bicep is Sore But ‘Hopefully Not Too Serious’ (Video)

After a seemingly successful return from Tommy John surgery in 2012, Red Sox right-hander John Lackey suffered a bicep strain in Saturday’s 5-0 loss to the Blue Jays. Lackey said he experienced what felt like a cramp in his right bicep after a pitch to Jose Reyes.

“It’s pretty frustrating,” Lackey told reporters. “It was scary when it happened, for sure.”

After 4 1/3 innings in Toronto, Lackey had thrown eight strikeouts and allowed two earned runs. Lackey said he felt like he had been doing pretty well so far in the game.

Check out the video above to see what else Lackey had to say on his injury.
