Jeff Green, Tristan Thompson, Alonzo GeeJeff Green has made a colossal step forward in his fourth year in the NBA, but to his teammate Kevin Garnett, Green’s brighter days have yet to come.

Garnett, who has been in the NBA for 17 years, believes Green has a historically bright future.

“I always said J. Green is going to be one of the best ever to play this game,” Garnett told Comcast SportsNet’s Greg Dickerson. “When you watch him play, you see the glimpses.”

Whether it is a shot of confidence for Green heading into the 2013 playoffs, or a gesture to his latest performances, one thing is for sure, the high-flying, relentless small forward has had his way in the 2012-13 campaign. Per 36 minutes of playing time, Green has averaged 16.6 points, five rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

While Garnett’s absence has been crucial to the Celtics, Green’s presence has been felt in more ways than one. In his 12 games as a starter, Green is posting 22.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the field. But most importantly, the 6-foot-9 swingman is taking the basketball to the hoop.
