The Bruins received a legend on Tuesday, but it wasn’t without giving up some prospects.

According to the Stars, the Bruins sent young enforcer Lane MacDermid and a young scrapper, Cody Payne of the Plymouth Whalers, to the Stars in exchange for Jaromir Jagr. The B’s also included a conditional second-round pick in the 2013 NHL draft.

MacDermid, 23, played three games with the B’s this year, posting 10 PIMs and one shot on net. Last season, he was called up for  five games and dropped the mitts with the Rangers’ Michael Rupp during his cup of coffee.

Payne, a 19-year-old right winger, had 75 PIMS in 66 games for the Whalers this season while tallying 24 goals and 21 assists. Last year, he potted 95 PIMs in 50 games to go with just three goals and 11 assists. The B’s picked Payne, who grew up in Florida, in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
