Manu Ginobili is 35 years old, 11 years into a career that should land him in the Basketball Hall of Fame, and battling a strained hamstring that caused him to miss nine of the Spurs’ last 10 games in the regular season. He is operating at far less than 100 percent, but he must be feeling a little better after Sunday’s victory over the Lakers.

Early in the Spurs’ Game 4 win, which saw the Lakers get swept out of the first round of the playoffs, Ginobili sent a message. He dribbled straight down the foul lane, took a couple of his patented long strides and rose up for a dunk over Lakers center Dwight Howard. Spurs forward DeJuan Blair was pumped up, but Ginobili reacted to the highlight-reel play over the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year as though that were something that happened every day.
