If it’s not broken, why fix it?
That seems to be the philosophy the Red Sox are employing at the moment, as they will trot out the same starting lineup and batting order for the third game in a row Tuesday night in Toronto. After appearing just twice in the team’s first 12 games, Mike Carp will make his third consecutive start in left field against the Blue Jays, the first time he has done so all season.
An injury to Shane Victorino had the potential to be detrimental to the team’s outfield depth, but the surprisingly successful Daniel Nava (.310 average, four home runs, 16 RBIs) has shifted seamlessly to right field in Victorino’s absence, with Carp and Jonny Gomes splitting time in left.
